District Comprehensive Educational Plan Goals

  • Rigorous Instruction: Students in grades 3-8 will continue to show progress in Mathematics and Literacy as indicated with a 10% decrease of level 1 students on the 2016 State Assessments.  ELA level 1 students will decrease from 44% (2015) to 40% (2016).  Math level 1 students will decrease from 41% (2015) to 37% (2016).
  • Supportive Environment: District 6 leadership team with the collaboration of the BFSC, SLT, PA/PTA will continue to foster schoolwide culture where students feel safe, supported, and academically challenged by their teachers and peers as measured by an __% increase from the previous year in the positive result of the supportive environment in the District School Survey.
  • Collaborative Teachers: District 6 Leadership will continue to support schools by providing opportunities for administrators and teachers to work collaboratively to create updated curriculum maps in order to improve all instructional practices as measured by an increase in academic achievement all students with a focus on ELLs and SWDs. 
  • Effective School Leadership: 100% of principals and assistant principals will participate in a minimum of ten monthly leadership professional development sessions informed by the Framework for Great Schools to collaborate, share best practices and enhance specific identified areas of need ; resulting in an increase in the district-wide average MOLP end of year rating in 4.1 Teacher Feedback from 2.89 (2015) to 3.00 (2016). 
  • Strong Family-Community Ties: CSD#6 will continue to  collaborate with families and community based organizations, in order to increase parental involvement and solidify the home-school partnership, as measured by a 10% increase in parents who agree or strongly agree on the “Strong-Family –Community Ties” section of the 2016 School Environment Surveys.
